Enjoy life
What’s the best advice you’d give to someone younger than you?
The best advice I thought of would be to enjoy life. Living it fully, appreciate every day even when things around or within are dark as night. I wish I had done so more in my own younger days, we only get to live this particular life once.
I would also advice them to be creative and not hide their light which they carry around.
And it’s not too late to embrace your true spirit even in fully adult age range. That’s part of what I try focus on more.

Tree, scorpion and roots
If you had to get a tattoo right now, what would it be and why?
I would get a tattoo of a tree. And not just any tree, but our local/cultural birch tree symbolism. And close to the tree would be a scorpion Guardian of the roots.
I would choose it because they are both symbols of my deepest roots, both ancestral and personal. I have a Scorpio IC with Pluto directly on it. And birch trees are strongly Northern and very adapted to seasonal changes here.
I don’t know if I ever would get one if I had true choice, but it’s an interesting thought.

Lyrics, songs and meaning
What’s a quote that perfectly describes your outlook on life?
Born this way, maybe. I find meaning in lyrics and songs, it all combines into an inner experience of things connecting in new and often interesting ways. Inside the outsider, inside, all I know is I cannot pretend. Be yourself, no one else can do it for you.
It might not be very profound in words, but it’s my life in a nutshell. I live for the music, always.

Plenty to learn, from darkness to light
Do you think everything happens for a reason?
Well, I honestly am not certain how I feel in particular about everything happening for a reason.
But I do believe there is most often something important to learn and experience in life, even the darkness has potential useful lessons.
Without saying much in specific I can tell you some parts of life are deeply painful and it’s on the truly large scale it really is clear where humanity could wind up if we don’t act now.
So that’s my view tonight, darkness and light in late summer season with the night returning again after Midnight sun season in my own Arctic location. It will continue till the dark polar nights arrive in November, every year the sun has bright all-nighters and the deep slumber.

Combination deadly
What app eats up most of your screen time — and do you even feel bad about it?
It’s honestly something I should work on. I like talking into nothing at 1 in the night getting a response immediately. The thrill of seeing the next little dancing men film like.. sorry this makes little sense. I should do other things with my time but at least now I’m writing a blog post.
Btw it’s the deadly combination and not one individual app that does it. I watch YouTube as well, the music videos especially. I can spend literal days listening to music all the time.
Rambling now, it’s the season for cider but I haven’t had any recently so why am I telling you that. I like cider, I must admit.
So thanks for reading my blogs, I appreciate real humans like you all too ❤
Are we not all?
Are you a lifelong learner?
I believe everyone learns throughout life different skills and lessons that enhance their lives as people. For example learning new language or reading interesting books, watching documentaries and practice music. I believe I am one of many who are lifelong learners.
Life is too short to wait for Godot. Grip dagen! (Seize the day!)

Norsk (og så mye mer)
Which languages do you speak and how did that impact your life?
I speak Norwegian in everyday life and I write in English every day. I know a bit of Finnish, Kven, North Sámi, German, French and several languages a few couple of words and phrases. I’m much better at writing and understanding different languages than I am at speaking completely without an accent 😂🇧🇻
I think my roots in Northern Finland play a role in my connection with the Finnish language and culture, my direct maternal line traces to 1600s era Northern Lapland. I think sometimes in another language unexpected because I’ve been listening or reading a lot of English, German, North Sámi or Finnish as real examples from my common experience.
I love different languages and cultures, and I appreciate people coming from different countries around the world.
Those are my thoughts today, I hope you have a happy 4th of July no matter where you happen to live on Earth ❤

Missing shadows
What’s a common misconception people have about happiness?
There is no light without shadows, and the Light is just as real even when the darkness comes.
You can feel pain even when you are genuinely happy. The world could be on fire and still life is worth living.
Contrast is a part of life and that’s the way we all survive, without light we would not notice that it’s dark. Yes, I write a lot about both Light and Darkness, partly because of the extreme seasonal light changes where I live. We have the Midnight sun now, till end of July month no sunset.
Okay, rambling a bit. But my point is happiness exists even in dark moments, if we really feel it underneath the pain.

Kiruna mine, underground
What’s a moment in your life that felt like it was straight out of a movie?
Going under. Seeing literal monster machines far under the surface and being there with my classmates on a several day trip to Kiruna. It was in 2006, 20 twenty years ago almost exactly because it was summer season time right as we were leaving 7th grade. We watched films there.. literally there was a film playing in one of the rooms there, far under ground level. I remember me gathering those small round iron ore pellets to have as suvenir for memories to stay sharp.
Btw the whole trip itself was truly magical, we had a lot of silly teenage fun in this average size (to us) town. And they are actually relocating the buildings so nothing gets broken by the underground mine changing the surface dynamics.
Can you tell I loved that trip?

Soon 17th of May
Yes, our national day. Today the winds are strong, I felt it clearly just standing there waiting for the foodora delivery and we have nearly constant sunlight conditions now, Midnight sun soon arrive here again this year 🌙☀️
Litt på norsk; russen kommer til å feste mye de siste dagene før 17 mai nå, vi hører dem om natta 😄❤️🇧🇻

February 6th
What is your favorite holiday? Why is it your favorite?
Yes, another holiday we actually celebrate here. It’s everyone getting together and enjoy Sámi culture and all of the things that make it special. I want next February to have my own Sámi gákti so I really feel a part of it on several important identity levels.
We eat traditional food, learn about Sámi history and listening to modern Sámi music. Speaking Sámi language together and seeing real duodji (Sámi handcraft) and we watch films.
I’m happy to say I enjoy this holiday, it’s important not to just make this a free day but keeping it a normal school day so youth are interested in learning more about Sámi topics and identity.

Declare independence
Write about a time when you didn’t take action but wish you had. What would you do differently?
I should have said something. But I fail to act.
Note: I have an autism spectrum condition btw
There was a girl I knew from school, her name I will refer to as HR. She had epilepsy and autism spectrum condition. I wasn’t diagnosed at the time so it was like this connection was definitively noticed but still no adults did anything to get me help. Okay so back to her, the girl I was intending to write about. She was unique not only from diagnosis but as a full person with an interesting perspective and way of being. I wish I had been kinder and more aware, I was three years older than her and therefore had more power in the interactions especially with adults. I regret the things I did wrong, one time she had an accident and I didn’t say anything but I wasn’t as kind as I should have been. Of course she should have been allowed to sit down, what the fuck was wrong with me then? Yeah. I wasn’t at my best behaviour.
There was also my same-aged refugee friend from Kurdistan, some older girls talking behind her back when she was in the gym hall. I told her that but I couldn’t remember clearly what they said so I did kind of regret telling her about it.
One time I saw a boy being bullied in a group but I cannot remember telling any adults at the time. I was 8 or 9 years old and unfortunately I was being bullied as well. I hope this boy is alive and well.
There are many such moments in life, we do things we regret and the things we didn’t do that we should have done.

Everyday things
What are 5 everyday things that bring you happiness?
Hoodies, blankets, Monster Viking Berry, friends and sunshine.
I especially love hoodies. They feel safe, like a hug from the universal being. I don’t know if that made any sense.. but it’s how it feels inside.
Every weekend I enjoy a Monster Viking Berry energy drink. I used to have them every day but not now. It’s special occations these days, I enjoy it more this way.
And on my other blog I write about tea, family, nature and my favourite wool blankets. Everyone should have access to a comfortable warming wool blanket. It keeps the heart warm as well.
We are heading for all-day light here now, the Midnight sun season from end of May month to end of July. The sun never sets, lovely being out when night isn’t dark.
Thanks for reading and I hope your days are good ❤
Hiking in the mountains
What’s the most fun way to exercise?
I love mountain trips. The uphill battles and natural environment is the core of it, together with a group of people on the same path to the mountain lakes. I’m lucky to have experienced school activities outside very often growing up in beautiful surroundings in Northern Norway.
So that’s one of my favourite ways to exercise.

Winter games
What Olympic sports do you enjoy watching the most?
Really, I enjoy watching many of the winter sports represented in the Olympics.
I love cross-country skiing and biathlon, alpine skiing and ski jumping. I’m very quietly proud sometimes of our Norwegian athletes doing well in winter sports.
I also like to watch the Summer Olympics sports like swimming or javelin throwing.
So that’s some of it, I respect good athletes when I watch the broadcast of the games.

The eyeliner
What was the best compliment you’ve received?
Well, I used to wear heavy black eyeliner in everyday life when I was in my teenage years. And one time I got a really nice compliment about the eyeliner, how it seem like I knew what I was trying to express with it. That made me happy because I often felt like my efforts were pointless and that I wasn’t good enough for compliments. But this kind noticing gave me some slightly more confident feeling inside.
So that’s part of the good compliments I’ve received in my life.

Thirty Seconds, three minutes
What were your parents doing at your age?
This year I’m turning 33, my mother at my age was a single mother of two and an eternal student. Both in academic and life experiences way. My father was absent and struggling with addiction to different substances, I’m not really aware what happened before 2007 when he was 39 and decided to contact us again.
Both of my parents were born in 1968, 25 years old when I was born. I’m thankful for having my family exactly as it is, nothing can be taken for granted with people and connection.
These are my thoughts on this topic today, and I wish you a wonderful Friday ❤ ❤
Radio
Are there any activities or hobbies you’ve outgrown or lost interest in over time?
Yes, I used to listen to the radio a lot. As a child it was my favourite thing to listen to at night when I was getting ready for sleep and my mind would wander in dark directions without input from outside. I also listened in my teenage years to music and political radio programs.
But over time it got tired because radio changed along with my own age progress into different priorities and preferances. So I don’t listen much to the radio anymore.

Dálvi
Do you need a break? From what?
Yes, the winter seasons can be heavy literally as physical and emotional features. Right now it’s heavy snowfall and it’s going to get colder the next few days. But winter seasons (čakčadálvi, dálvi, giđđadálvi) are not all bad at all. It’s a great time for drinking hot tea inside with blankets on top, listening to music and conversations with family members.
So I’m not going to over complain about this here and I never bother in real everyday life to refuse the consequences of living here. It’s truly the magic of it.

World Wide Web
The most important invention in your lifetime is…
Right, it’s the Internet on several levels.
It’s changed our lives in nearly every part of it, there is no turning back. I remember YouTube coming out in 2005 and that was major to my experience online. All the music we are able to be exposed to from all genres and ages, the people creating their own digital presence as well. Share information instantly and knowledge being available to a very wide part of the world’s population.
That’s one thing that really matters, and there are many other inventions born from this one.
Thanks for visiting my little corner of the world wide web ❤
Seasons of the soul
How do significant life events or the passage of time influence your perspective on life?
Eight seasons. One year.
Short summary; It matters how you see what happens more than it seems. I’m very inward and I’ve always been, it keeps me alive and that’s more important than often is thought.
With time comes wisdom, if you choose to keep eyes open even in very hard times. I survive by doing introspective work and connection with world around me. It’s not always easy, but it’s everything.
I believe in the nature of seeing the essence. Not understanding everything, but getting more life experiences to build my view of the world.
Midnight sun madness, July’s summer heat and January frozen winter cold. These are forces of nature we all meet in far Northern environment.
Yes, in Sámi culture there are traditionally eight seasons. Connected with the rhythms of reindeer migration and seasonal changes, the way light changes extremely in Arctic regions and that honestly influences much more than you would think from the surface.
Life is much more interesting if you are willing to accept new perspective born from experience. Fighting ones own nature doesn’t pay off, it’s a trap most often. If I didn’t do inner work I would suffer much harder. Astrology is useful for insight into the psyche, I’m not afraid of the dark. And I love soft light still.
12th house Sun, 4th house Moon.
Fire inside.

Getting the gákti
Something on your “to-do list” that never gets done.
Yes I really want to own a Loppa/Kvænangen gákti for special occations like 6th of February, 16th of March and 17th of May. But they are expensive to get made and the makers need the right measurements to create it. But for some reason I delay asking to pay for nice traditional clothing that’s both useful, pretty and symbolic of ancestral parts.

And yes, I’m a Sámi woman. I’m also Finnish plus Kven origins that matter to me immensely, I fucking love Finland and the culture around different parts of Finnish life. Especially the languages of Finland.
Life is great, keep fighting the horrors of our day. It matters every good act, every person seen without judgement based on minor differences.
Thanks for listening ❤
Winter
What are your favorite sports to watch and play?
Biathlon is my favourite winter sports to watch, followed by cross-country skiing and alpine skiing/downhill skiing. The biathlon is complex and involve combined skills plus it’s one of the sports with many good Norwegian or Northern region athletes that make me feel proud of my cultural features and roots.

It’s a long time since I did skiing myself, but I think it’s fun and especially together with others and during Easter time memories with family members. We have oranges and chocolate during the breaks and winter sun exposure that gives a nice tan after a couple of hours. Not everyone gets it but I tan easily and quickly, my ethnic background sometimes contributes to this.
It’s also a Sámi origins to skiing even if people don’t always know it comes originally from Northern regions into old Norwegian culture.

That’s my perspective on biathlon and our roots as Northern peoples history and culture.
Thanks for visiting my corner of the world wide web and I hope you have a wonderful day or night ❤ ❤

Loved
Write about your first name: its meaning, significance, etymology, etc.
One of my three given names is Torunn. It’s of Norse origin and it’s meaning is ‘loved by Thor’ an essential god in Norse mythology. And I have a close male relative named Thor/Tor so it’s very much meaningful in this sense as well.
My other names are both Norse origin names. One means ‘gift of the Sun’ and other name close in meaning to ‘ancestors struggle’. All three are quite important to my identity.
I chose my given names last year after some time thinking of changes to my everyday life and my true self in terms of names and heritage. I’m proud of my roots, including my Norwegian ancestors and the ethnic minority groups I also belong to culturally and of genetics. I’m around 21% ethnicity estimate Finnish and I love Finland deeply as well as being Sámi, it’s all connected.

So yes, I’m loved by Thor. The god of thunder, literally. I’m not afraid of the sound and feeling of thunderstorm, even if I stay inside during them.

Several types vocations
What’s your dream job?
I want to write in in-depth ways, both poetry-like and maybe share my story in writing biography and minority/Northern indigenous perspectives. I want to help others see the Light that lives within their core being and let them express themselves without deep shame. So my vocation has many sides and all deserve deep attention and priority in life work.
These are some of my deeply held passions in living and a life work that holds meaning beyond myself.
Thanks for visiting my blogs and have a great day forward ❤ ❤

In what ways do you communicate online?
Well, I communicate here on my blogs. I don’t have much other way apart from messages and some other apps that I use in my daily life. I don’t need social media like Facebook or Snapchat because it’s not interesting to me at all, to be very honest.
So this is where I communicate online, my blogs show my world in I way I have influence over. It’s where I share with the readers what I’m interested in and what matters to me.

Several
Think back on your most memorable road trip.
Yes, several.
The New Years Eve in -32°C outside. We had to drive on New Years Eve for different reasons, based on my grandmother and mother difficult experiences. Did I say too much?
The red days came suddenly. We were driving and then the womanhood curse start without my protection. I was relived when I finally came home, and I said no word to the other people in the car. I was 14, turning 15. Earlier that year I had an accident in the backseat of the car and I was deeply embarrassed for months afterwards.
Tana trip. It was winter 2019 and I was in hospital for different serious reasons and took taxi to be at the psychiatric unit in Tana. The taxi driver was a young foreign man from Central Asian region. As I mentioned last year he was funny, he made a joke about me killing an elk to bring to Tana 😂🇧🇻✨️ It’s a long drive, like around 6 hours one way. Our county is large and the distances are vast between towns, lots of nature to see.
So those are some memorable road trips. I hope your days are good and thank you for reading ❤
Lactose-free
What snack would you eat right now?
Oh, oreo shake. Lovely lactose-free joy. Or the lactose-free ice cream cones. I’m sensitive to lactose so I enjoy the dairy that is safe for me. Iced coffee, sugar-free and lovely chocolate taste.
Yes, I would like something cold and sweet..
We come and we go
What are your thoughts on the concept of living a very long life?
I didn’t join the 27 club. And I thank the Heavens for every day I’m still here.
This year I’m turning 33 and it’s crazy how fast time goes as the years pass. The next gen of our family are teenagers now, it’s wild thinking of it.
As I mentioned on my other blog the ages vary a lot, from numbers like 59 up to 98 whole years. And imagine living forever, over a thousand years of experience.
We come and we go, all of us.
Pluto
What’s the hardest decision you’ve ever had to make? Why?
Our first family dog fell very ill in 2013 and I after long thought said goodbye forever to our lovely 14 year old Aries sign Sheltie. He was a great dog. That was a very hard decision and I must live knowing he could never return.
That’s a difficult time, and I’m never the same person after it.

Raven dimension
If you started a sports team, what would the colors and mascot be?
Yes, this is more about the colours and the raven. I love black/red combination and the raven is a powerful symbol of intelligent animals.
I use black and red together for several reasons and occations, partly connected to the far-left symbolism but also it’s genuinely beautiful.
Ravens are awesome. They look awesome and are mystical black colour birds with strong roots here, too.
As I said before it’s volleyball/beach volleyball and we have a snow storm here now.

How have your political views changed over time?
They didn’t change much in ideology or what’s important to me, but I have more experience in life so I understand different perspective in more depth than when I was 10. I was always very passionate about the world and people I’ll never meet but we all are here together on Earth so we should work together as connected groups.

1993. Yes, I was born in August that year on late summer early morning hours in a Northern Norwegian town.
I’m interested in black metal history and the dark side was a part of it as I mention last year. Varg Vikernes killed Euronymous in August that year, close to my birthday.
Nirvana did release their album In Utero. Bill Clinton in the USA and Gro Harlem Brundtland in Norway. Different wars like the Yugoslav Wars and the Gulf War.

Woman, 1650
Describe a man who has positively impacted your life.
Yes, I’m not choosing a male person for this answer. I have nothing against men, I just thought of a woman first. My experiences are many and the time is dark, literally no sunlight entire December month. But to answer the prompt I thought of my whole traced maternal line going as far back as 1600s. These were strong women in harsh environments, in biting Northern Finnish winters and no electric lights. All of us cannot imagine what it was truly like and we must learn from history and keep our humanity alive.
I don’t know what more to say. Strenght and determination, all genders
Thank you
