Which languages do you speak and how did that impact your life?

I speak Norwegian in everyday life and I write in English every day. I know a bit of Finnish, Kven, North Sámi, German, French and several languages a few couple of words and phrases. I’m much better at writing and understanding different languages than I am at speaking completely without an accent 😂🇧🇻

I think my roots in Northern Finland play a role in my connection with the Finnish language and culture, my direct maternal line traces to 1600s era Northern Lapland. I think sometimes in another language unexpected because I’ve been listening or reading a lot of English, German, North Sámi or Finnish as real examples from my common experience.

I love different languages and cultures, and I appreciate people coming from different countries around the world.
