What are your favorite sports to watch and play?
Biathlon is my favourite winter sports to watch, followed by cross-country skiing and alpine skiing/downhill skiing. The biathlon is complex and involve combined skills plus it’s one of the sports with many good Norwegian or Northern region athletes that make me feel proud of my cultural features and roots.
It’s a long time since I did skiing myself, but I think it’s fun and especially together with others and during Easter time memories with family members. We have oranges and chocolate during the breaks and winter sun exposure that gives a nice tan after a couple of hours. Not everyone gets it but I tan easily and quickly, my ethnic background sometimes contributes to this.
It’s also a Sámi origins to skiing even if people don’t always know it comes originally from Northern regions into old Norwegian culture.
That’s my perspective on biathlon and our roots as Northern peoples history and culture.
